Speaker Michael Erin Woody

Candidate for Congress

I have recently filed with the Federal Elections Commission to begin the exploration process of running for the 24th Congressional District along the Central Coast of California in 2020.

For the past few months, I have been meeting with a great many of you and listening to your concerns, and especially your frustrations.

Frustrated families all along the central coast keep asking me, “When will Salud Carbajal have the courage to take positions on difficult issues such as sanctuary cities, single-payer healthcare, reparations, Medicare for all, universal basic income, 70% tax rates, and many other issues?”

The reality is that he won’t.

Because Salud Carbajal has no respect for you. He takes your vote for granted. And no matter what your political leanings are, this is unacceptable.

Salud Carbajal needs to be taught the life lesson of, “Stand for something or fall for anything.”

In the coming months, I will be releasing for everyone a very extensive policy platform called, “The Commitment of a New Generation.” In it, I will be outlining, in very clear detail, a better direction for our central coast communities, and will be taking decisive positions on issues we are all facing.

As a small business owner, professional Civil Engineer, and as a former elected official, I know what it takes to bring both sides to the table to find a solution. Along with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Fresno State, and a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard, I can also bring a unique set of qualifications to this position to represent all of our needs.

Lastly, as my family has called the Central Coast of California our home before California was even a state, this region is more than just my home, it is who I am. No one will fight harder for the needs of this region than I.

So, during the next few months, I will continue to meet with a great many of you during the exploration phase of this campaign so I can continue to hear your concerns and ideas. The problems facing this region are unique, and we finally deserve a unique representative that has the leadership to address them.

It’s time to put an end to the failed politics of the past. After 25 years in politics, and not having the courage to take positions on important issues, it’s time for Salud Carbajal to go.

Standing up for our farmers and our natural resources, fighting for our local businesses and communities, and providing the real leadership all of us finally deserve.

It’s time for a new era of representation for the central coast.
